We were thrilled to finally be able to host a formal presentation ceremony for our award as a School of Sanctuary. This special event marks the first milestone of our journey as a place of welcome.
We were proud to host speakers from the Birmingham Schools of Sanctuary Team, Asylum Matters, Six Ways Baptist Church, Asylum Matters and our own Parish Church.
We know that as a community there is much more that we can do to ensure that our country and local community is a safe and welcoming haven for those fleeing danger and presecution. As part of this ongoing focus, at the end of our assembly children wrote postcards to our local MP to voice our serious concerns about the new Nationality and Borders Bill.
