Celebrating Our Faith
Here at the Abbey, we celebrate Our Faith in many different ways. Look at some of the special events that take place during our school year that have a particular focus or importance to our Catholic Faith.
School of Sanctuary Visitors
We welcomed visitors from the School of Sanctuary and showed them some of the work we have been doing to highlight the plight of refugees and welcome all to our school.
Cafod Family Fast Day
Children in Years 5 and 6 sacrificed their own lunches to support the CAFOD Family Fast Day.
Mardi Gras Floats
The children have really enjoyed making Mardi Gras floats for our float competition. The Caritas group voted for these wonderful entries. Afterwards, the whole school enjoyed performing their Mardi Gras dances to celebrate before the start of Lent.
Vocations Mass
We were honoured to celebrate the vocations of the church with not just our fellow parish schools but with many members of the clergy, who took the time to be with us for this special celebration. It was a joyous occasion.
Scripture Workshop
The children enjoyed spending some time thinking about scripture in our scripture workshops. They made sheep, decorated feathers and thought about how the scriptures affected them or helped them in their own lives.

Caritas Team Gift Bags Donations
Our Caritas team were blown away by the outpouring of love and support shown towards those less fortunate than us. Every child in school donated a gift bag for a gentle who was in need over this Christmas period.
