Year 5 had the opportunity to complete a week of special Bikeability training to prepare them for riding on the road!
The pupils were provided with helmets and bikes, and began their cycling journey by exploring various safety maneuvers on the school playground with four experienced instructors. Once the pupils had been assessed, smaller groups spent over four hours of cycling practice across four days on local roads using their knowledge to complete emergency stops, use hand signals, and approach junctions.
The children displayed excellent attitudes to learning throughout and persevered even when it felt a bit tricky.
The school is super-proud of our fantastic Year 5 cyclists and can’t wait to see them develop their skills further next year in Year 6.
