We believe in staying healthy here at The Abbey, and we offer a wide range of sporting related clubs to the children.
Children and families are informed about clubs on offer through our weekly newsletter.
A variety of different sports clubs are offered each term and include things like multi skills, football, indoor athletics, football, netball, zumba and badminton.

Throughout the academic year, Year 5 and Year 6 children have the opportunity to take part in an after school Athletics club.
They work on skills such as sprinting, throwing and agility to prepare them for the upcoming Kingsbury and Catholic Sports competitions throughout the year.

During the football season, Years 3 and 4 are enjoying an after school football club being run by Mr McT - helping them to practice all of the skills that they need for upcoming games.

During Autumn term, we work in partnership with Aston Villa football club and employ the services of a coach from AVFC. We have a breakfast club, allowing us to brush up on our skills before school even begins! Year 6 are also extremely lucky to have coaching during their lessons as part of the PE EXTRA opportunities that are run throughout the whole year.

From January 2015, pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be able to join the Annie Kidd Irish Dancing School. The Dance School will be using our school hall after school, each Thursday in term time, throughout the whole school year.
In Autumn term, Year 2 we have the opportunity to attend a very popular multi-skills club run by Mr H and Miss M. This allows children to practise ball skills, aiming, and running skills which we can apply to our team games throughout the whole year.

We hold a weekly couch to 5K running club for parents each week.
It sets off each Friday morning after morning ‘drop off’. If you would like to join this club, leave your name and number at the school office for Mrs O’Rourke. No experience necessary. All abilities welcome.
Throughout the academic year, Years 4, 5 and 6 have the opportunity to take part in an after school rounders club.
Children will get the chance to brush up on their throwing and catching skills, bowling skills, fielding skills and batting skills.
They will use this to prepare for future competitions with KSSP Partnership.
Pupils in Year 5 and 6 take part in running club every Thursday lunchtime throughout the school year. The group focuses on road running but also enjoys taking part in cross country events throughout the year.

Year 4, 5 and 6 students can join Tag Rugby Club in Spring and Summer terms with Mr Crowhurst.
During the Spring and Summer months, Years 3 to 6 are able to take part in Tennis Club after school. We practise many different skills involved in tennis which include co-ordination, agility, reaction time as well as working on the many different technical aspects of the sport. These skills help us to get prepared for competitions as well as helping us keep fit and healthy.

During Autumn term, pupils in Key Stage 2 can join after school Zumba classes - including lots of team games as well as the opportunity for us to keep fit through our love of dance!
