Travelling Ted - 2011/12

Travelling Ted

Travelling Ted is a very valued member of our school community. He spends time each week with families from school and writes about his adventures in his diary.

Travelling Ted likes to join children on exciting adventures both in and out of school.

He loves to have his photograph taken and share all of his adventures with his friends.

If you are going somewhere exciting or unusual, why not invite Travelling Ted along? As long as you write a report with a photograph for his webpage - he'd love to join you.

Travelling Ted at the London Marathon

22 April 2012

Ted has been inspired by the Olympic assemblies in school and our focus on perseverance. He joined the thousands of spectators cheering on all of the athletes at the London Marathon 2012.

Ted really enjoyed the party atmosphere amongst the crowd and encouraged all the athletes that passed him by. Ted felt humbled by the positive attitudes and commitment of both the athletes and charity fund raising fun runners. He got to see 'perseverance' at many levels. He's really looking forward to the Olympics now!

The event was taking place in the BT tower - what an impressive building. The view from the top of the the tower was breathtaking. Ted could see for miles and miles. To top the event, Ted got to meet one of his heroes - Mr Simon Weston. What a great day out!

Ted at Moseley Rugby Club

24 March 2012

Following the successful Catholic Sports Tag-Rugby Tournament last Saturday, Moseley Rugby Club invited us to join them for their play-off game against Esher. It was a glorious afternoon to watch some Rugby and some of our pupils were able to come along to cheer on a local sports team. Moseley won the game 27-15 and we wish them all the best for the second leg that will be played next week.

Ted in Shropshire

12 February 2012

Ted loves being in school, but really enjoys his school holidays too! During February half term, Ted enjoyed a few days in Shropshire. He went 'back to basics' and enjoyed walking in snow topped hills and snuggling up in front of roaring log fires. Ted thought camping might be a bit chilly in the snow and stayed in a camping pod. Ted thought it looked a bit like a huge Dog Kennel. What do you think?

Four of our talented pupils have been performing in the Cinderella production that has been taking place over several weeks at the Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre. It has been a life changing experience for the girls who have been working alongside some household names.

Travelling Ted's Visit to Lapland

December 2011

Travelling Ted had gone missing from Reception Green Group in school – everyone was very worried. Amazingly one of our reception pupils found him hidden in their Grandma's suitcase when they arrived in Lapland for a super surprise treat.

It was very cold when they arrived in Lapland. The naughty elves were riding on the airport baggage carousel when they got to the airport – cheeky things! Everybody dressed up warm and headed to the woods, there they took part in many different activities such as ice fishing, a husky sled ride and a ride on a snow mobile.

Eventually, it was time to meet Santa Claus. Two of his elves, Twinkle and Sparkle, played with everyone, while Travelling Ted snuck in to see Father Christmas – he asked him for a girlfriend to travel with. Lets hope that he's not on the Naughty List and his wish may come true.

A very exciting plane ride.

Ted was surprised to discover that Oxford University is not based in one place but is made up of several colleges and faculties dotted around the city. Lots of people use bikes to travel around the city. Ted had a super time.
