Event - World Book Day

1 March 2012

A fantastic day was had by all! Children came to school dressed as a character from their favourite story book or they wore their pyjamas ready for a bed time story.

All children brought their favourite book to school so that they could take part in a whole school 'read-in'. The school spent 10 minutes of the day in an assembly reading quietly. Teachers were invited to share an extract from their favourite book.

Parents were also invited into school to take part in the 'Mystery Reader'. Parents surprised their child by coming into school to read to their child's class for 10 minutes.

Lots of year groups took part in 'Buddy Reading', whereby children in one class paired up with children from another class. They spent time looking at books and read to each other.
