Event - Shakespeare Schools Festival

6 November 2015

The whole of Year 6 were involved in performing two of Shakespeare’s best loved plays. They worked very hard in the build-up. The Old Rep hosted four primary schools. This marvellous opportunity allowed talents to be polished and confidence visibly grew from the dress rehearsal to show time.

Macbeth: This tragic and harrowing tale was ably performed by thirty children – capturing the tension and drama of the twists and turns of the plot. The cauldron and the battle scene were particularly spectacular.

A Midsummers Night’s Dream: This love story was filled with comedy moments. The crowd interacted marvellously with the cast as they performed this complicated love story.

Technical Support: Not only did Year 6 act but they also controlled all of the lighting and sound effects, working alongside a professional technician.
