Event - Shakespeare Schools Festival

13 November 2013

Year 6 pupils were lucky enough to be involved in the recent Shakespeare Schools Festival, performing Macbeth.

The children worked very hard for weeks to learn their lines, stage the play and decide on costumes and effects.

On the day of the performance they travelled to the MAC theatre and immersed themselves in the final preparation. During the technical rehearsal, two pupils were in the sound and lighting booth putting the final touches to all the necessary effects. After some time in quiet reflection and prayer, they made their way backstage, waiting in the wings, adrenaline rushing.

A rapturous welcome awaited Year 6 as they went on to the stage. Many parents, friends and relatives were in the audience, bursting with pride at the wonderful performance.

It was an amazing experience Year 6 will never forget.
