Event - School Council's London Trip
20 June 2014
Our school Councillors work hard all year to help make our school the best place it can be. They give up their own free time, working behind the scenes, to support the whole school.
School Council were delighted to accept an invitation from our MP, Jack Dromey, to tour the Houses of Parliament.
A fund raising cake sale was quickly organised by the school council and before long, train tickets were booked, packed lunches were made and they were on their way.
It was a long day for all involved, as the council departed at 7am and did not return to school until 9pm! Huge thanks to Mrs Marks, Mr Kirke and Ms Tallon for giving up their time to support the excursion.
The School Councillors had an amazing day visiting London: after the brilliantly informative House of Commons Tour, they enjoyed a picnic lunch in the sun by the Thames. They were then surprised by a trip in a pod on the London Eye (everyone agreed that this was a tremendous surprise). After some sightseeing around the capital city, the group strolled to Covent Garden and enjoyed an al fresco supper whilst watching street entertainers before boarding the train back to Birmingham.
Well done to everyone involved in the School Council 2013/14 - it has been a fabulous year.
