Event - RE Week
Monday 7th February 2011 was the beginning of our RE Week. The theme was 'Learning to follow in the footsteps of Jesus with our family'.
During this week the school held 'Family Breakfasts'. Families were invited into school each morning to share breakfast together. The breakfast concluded with a prayer. Families were asked what they thought of the celebration. Here are some of their responses.
"I really enjoyed the Family Breakfast. It was lovely to see all the families together."
"I think it was lovely especially with the teachers giving up their time."
"I found the Family Breakfast to be a very enjoyable experience indeed. It was nice to sit down and eat breakfast with my two sons, because we don't have the time at home."
"I really enjoyed eating with my friends and family. I loved the candles and the statue of Jesus."
On Friday 11th February 2011 Year 1 held a lovely prayer session. We said thank you to God for our families. Miss McTiernan lit the candles and the classroom was shining bright. Everyone was smiling! It was great to see so many people there. It was fun. Each week someone gets to take home the prayer sack. In the prayer sack there are lots of things to help you pray. Someone took the prayer bag home after our prayer session.
