Event - Remembrance
9 November 2018
On Friday 9 November at 11.00am, our community gathered together to remember those who have given their lives in war. Children and staff, invited members of the local community, including PCSOs and pupils from a local school, to join us in a service and a two minute silence to honour those service men and women who had given their lives for this country.
This year every child painted a stone with a Remembrance message, these stones were then sent home and cast into the local environment. The back of the stones asked for them to be returned to our school, of the 415 stones sent out, 17 returned.
This represented the sheer loss of life experienced due to the Great War, these 17 stones - representing the few who returned - were laid at the base of the Union Jack along with Poppy Wreaths.
We thank all who travelled to be part of this important occasion.
