Event - A Visit from Olympian, Phil Brown

28 September 2012

Phil Brown won a Silver medal in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics in 400m relay and visited our school on Friday 28th September 2012.

Phil spoke to everyone in assembly and encouraged us all to be the very best we can be. We watched clips of several of his races - it was very exciting viewing.

Phil brought his Olympic medal and gave every child in school the chance to hold it and ask him questions about his career. He told us that when he was a child an Olympian, Mary Peters, visited his school. He was inspired by her and hopes that he can have the same effect on our school.

Who knows? There may have been some future Olympians in the audience - we will have to work hard and persevere to achieve our goals.
