Event - Visiting the Lord Mayor of Birmingham

13 May 2012

On Wednesday 13th May, the School Council travelled by train to see the Lord Mayor, Councillor Anita Ward.

We were given a guided tour of the Council House and allowed to sit in the Council chamber. We saw the Lord Mayor's office and we were shown the visitor's book which contained signatures of Prince Charles and the old President of the United States, Bill Clinton.

We met the Lord Mayor and she kindly gave us juice, tea and sandwiches. We tried on her Chain of Office which was very heavy. She answered all our questions and we had a great time. She told us that being School Councillors was the first step to becoming Lord Mayor.

Thank you Lord Mayor for a wonderful day.
